Dante Maria Aceti

short bio

Research fellow at NLHT Lab (Nanoscience Laboratory for Human Tecnologies) Department of Physics, University of Calabria, Rende (CS), Italy

Dante Maria Aceti received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, in Material Science and Material Science and Engineering respectively, from the Physics Department of the University of Calabria.

His Bachelor’s thesis focused on the fabrication of optically anisotropic micro-objects using reactive mesogens and two-photon polymerization.

His Master’s thesis investigated the possibility of tuning parity-time symmetry systems via liquid crystal photoalignment.

He worked as an MSCA-ESR (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Early-Stage Researcher) and PhD student at the Institute of Electronics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, in Sofia, Bulgaria, for three years.

His research project focused on using ultrashort laser pulses for the surface treatment of prosthetic materials to enhance their biocompatibility and provide antimicrobial activity.

His current research activity at NLHT Lab involves studying optical forces arising from ENZ (epsilon-near-zero) materials, as well as developing optical techniques for biosensing.
