short bio
Carlo Poselle Bonaventura began university in September 2015, at the Department of Physics at UNICAL.
He has been carrying out his research activities since July 2018 in the laboratory of Adsorption and Porosimetry within the Surface and Energy Group, where he studies the chemical, physical, and morphological features of various materials based on nanostructured carbon and beyond.
He completed his bachelor’s thesis titled: “Processi di fisisorbimento di H2 in micropori di carboni attivi commerciali”, under the supervision of Prof. Raffaele G. Agostino.
Subsequently, he obtained his master’s degree in physics with the experimental thesis: “Synthesis and characterization of graphite-based nanostructured materials and mesoporous silica for H2 storage by physisorption processes”, supervised by Dr. Alfonso Policicchio and co-supervised by Dr. Ing. Giuseppe Conte.
After his master’s degree, he spent 6 months as a winner of the Erasmus Traineeship in Madrid, Spain, at CIEMAT (Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas), where he synthesized and characterized graphene oxide and aerogel.
Since November 2022, he has been a PhD student in the “Superfici ed Energia” group. His PhD focuses on the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials for gas storage and purification (H2, CH4, N2, etc.) and CO2 capture.
From February to August 2024, he spent 6 months in Timisoara, Romania, at the “Coriolan Drăgulescu” Institute of Chemistry for his PhD period abroad, where he synthesized and characterized mesoporous silica using ionic liquids and doped with metal nanoparticles.
To date, Carlo Poselle Bonaventura has participated in conferences and is co-author of several scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
He speaks Italian, English, Spanish, and a little bit of Romanian.
