Sofia Cristofaro

short bio

Sofia completed her studies at the University of Calabria under the supervision of Prof. Francesco Valentini.

Her thesis focused on modeling the propagation of ion-acoustic waves in the solar wind using a numerical code.

She pursued her PhD at the University of Calabria, dedicating her research to the dynamics of non-neutral plasmas within Penning-Malmberg traps.

She spent a year in Strasbourg under the supervision of Dr. Giovanni Manfredi, where she refined a newly developed numerical algorithm by incorporating a second species  to model positron plasma cooling through collisions, for experiments on gravity and antimatter.

Currently, Sofia works as a consultant at Avvale S.p.A., where she applies the modeling and data analysis methodologies acquired during the years of study.
